PM Notes Sankranta is Being Celebrated Across Cambodia This Year

SIEM REAL: Prime Minister Hun Sen has expressed satisfaction in seeing Sankranta festivities celebrated across the country this year, noting it as a major achievement made by the government and the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC). He also noted that since Angkor Sankranta began in 2013, the word “Sankranta” has gradually become more widely used and recognized.

“People are really happy with the celebrations that are currently happening,” said Prime Minister Hun Sen at the opening ceremony of Angkor Sankranta on Friday morning, 14 April 2023, at the Bayon temple in Siem Reap.

He added that all people can do now is be prepared for different situations, particularly urging authorities to be ready to continue maintaining people’s security and safety during the Khmer New Year.
